0388 ROMANIA (Suceava) - Return to the village

Says Marius (Vasiliu), the one who sent me this postcard (the second - the first is here) and also author of the photography: "I wonder how much time from now on, will be heard, autumn, on the Bukovina's lanes, the wagon with firewood for the winter. For the time being, is a banal fact." You are right, Marius, but nostalgia for the things that no longer exist is a constant for each generation. Things change, inevitable and irreversible. For instance, the wheels of the wagon that you have photographed have tires, as they hadn't 50 years ago, and the man wearing a crochet fez and, if I'm not mistaken, rubber boots. At least to remain unchanged the forest , which filter the light in a so special way.

About the stamp

If the last time I forgot to write about the stamp, I will do it now. So the stamp is part of the first series Flora of Romania - Fauna flowers, issued on January 17, 2012. The six stamps, designed by Mihai Vămăşescu and Stan Pelteacu in a new illustrative manner, joining the image of the flower and the name of the beings from which their popular name derives, are:

• Common Lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis L.) (1.00 RON) - it's on this postcard
• Creeping Buttercup (Ranunculus repens L.) (1.20 RON) - it's on other postcard
• Common Snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus L.) (3.30 RON)
• Common Wood-Sorrel (Oxalis acetosella L.) (3.60 RON)
• China Aster (Callistephus chinensis (L.) Nees) (4.70 RON)
• Field Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis L.) (7.60 RON)
