2680 FRANCE (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) - Nature and manner, an Amerindian path

Opened in 1985 by the Rhone Department, the Domain of Lacroix-Laval is a green area located entirely in the commune of Marcy-l'Étoile over an area of 115 hectares, partially wooded. The area includes among others a castle that housed until 2007 a large doll collection. Since January 2015, the area of Lacroix-Laval is attached to the city of Lyon.

As part of its director plan launched in 2002, the Domaine of Lacroix-Laval was part of a unifying cultural project featuring the theme Nature and society. The 2004 program was a reflection of this policy: it combines a variety of enriching experiences, the result of a cultural mosaic. Within this theme was organized in castle, from 11 May to 31 October, the exhibition Nature and manner, an Amerindian path.

Visitors were invited to discover the intimate links between nature and architectural, clothing, cuisine and medical culture or spiritual of Native American and Inuit populations. Ethnographic collections, belonging mainly to the Museum, were presented in an original way through an interactive environment, but also through photo galleries, paintings and video projections.
